IIT Indore Admissions

The admission to the institute is done through national level examinations such as JEE Advanced for UG courses and GATE for PG courses. To take admission to Ph.D., the candidate must be qualified in UGC NET/ CSIR NET.

Application form for all the courses can be filled online by following the below-listed steps:

1. Visit the official website of IIT Indore and register with a valid e-mail ID and Password.
2. After successful registration, login credentials will be sent through e-mail.
3. Visit the examination portal of JEE Main or GATE (whatever applicable)

IIT Indore Scholarships

All the students of SC, ST and PwD categories are exempted from payment of 100% tuition fee per semester irrespective of their parental income as per MHRD order.

Merit cum Means Scholarships

Top 10% of students of these categories to be paid MCM scholarship of Rs. 3,000 per month (whose parental income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum) or INR 2,000 per month (whose parental income is between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs per annum).

Foundation For Excellence Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria: Students must meet the following qualifying criteria for eligibility for FFE’s scholarship program.  1. Academic: Only for BE / B.Tech/Integrated M. Tech students currently in 1st year II PUC or Grade 12 percentage – 70% and above 2. Library:

The Library has a collection of 35583+ books at present. These include books on all relevant subjects for teaching, reference and research in addition to fiction, literature and general interest books to take care of the leisure and recreational reading needs of users. The Library has also developed special collections such as Gandhian Studies, Hindi books, Children’s books, etc.

Hostel:

The hostels at IITI are probably the best any student pursuing studies in India could wish for. Aesthetically pleasing and located in close proximity to the Academic buildings, these hostels have been built keeping the comfort of students as the foremost priority. As far as the security is concerned, each hostel block is scrutinized by a guard 24×7. There are lady guards for the girls’ hostel. IIT Indore Admission 2021: Scholarship, M.Tech & Ph.D. Admissions

Indian Institute of Technology IIT, Indore offers admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc and Ph.D. programmes focusing on Science and Engineering and Humanities. JEE consists of a 3-hour paper with 90 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the engineering field.

Important Dates

IIT Indore JEE Advanced Cutoff

IIT Indore offers a B.Tech. degree in a total of 5 different departments. Admission to these programs is done through the IIT JEE-Advanced examination which is conducted in the month of May every year.

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) controls the entire admission procedure. A total of 7 rounds of admissions and counseling take place each year. 

The cutoff is released in the form of opening and closing ranks. It is further divided into categories and each category is further divided on the basis of gender. Usually, students with an All India Rank below 1000 get admission into CSE at IIT Indore.

CSE is the most sought after course among engineering aspirants. The lowest rank for getting admission in IIT Indore in 2019 was 9795 in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science.

Students usually prefer other IITs like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kharagpur over IIT Indore and thus the cutoffs for these colleges are often much higher.

JEE Advanced Campus-wise cutoff 2019:

As per the data presented above, it is quite evident that amongst the IITs mentioned, IIT Indore gives quite a good competition to IIT Hyderabad. There’s a significant difference between the Cut-Off required at IIT Mandi and IIT Indore.

IIT Indore JAM Cutoff

IIT Indore offers an M.Sc. degree in the following disciplines:

5. M.Sc. in Biotechnology

M.Sc. in Biotechnology is the most sought after course at IIT Indore and often records the highest cutoffs. Usually, only students with rank under 70 get to pursue M.Sc. in Biotechnology at IIT Indore.

Admission to one of these programs is done on the basis of the ranks secured by students in the IIT-JAM examination. Here is a comparison of cutoffs for admission into IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur and IIT Guwahati with IIT Indore.

Based on the data given above, it is safe to say that although IIT Indore can give a cut-throat competition to IIT Guwahati in terms of minimum rank required for admission to M.Sc. in Mathematics.

Getting admission to the M.Sc. programs in IIT Indore is relatively easier than getting admission to IIT Delhi, Kanpur or even Guwahati.

IIT-JAM Cut Off Round 1

Indian Institute of Technology, Indore, Madhya Pradesh concluded its Final Placements for the 2020 batch with the participation of over 160 recruiters. The average salary package offered for the placement session 2019-20 was recorded to be INR. 22.92 LPA.

Some of the top recruiters who visited the campus were- Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, American Express, Axis Bank, Bain Capability Centre, Bajaj Auto, Boston Consulting Group, ByteDance, Credit Suisse, CRISIL, D E Shaw, Flipkart, GE, GMR Group, Goldman Sachs, Google, ICICI, ITC, JP Morgan, Maruti Suzuki, PepsiCo, Philips, PwC India, Tech Mahindra, Vodafone, Xiaomi and Zinnov.

IIT Indore Placement 2020 Highlights

The average salary package offered was recorded to be INR. 22.92 LPA. The branch that recorded the highest number of placements was Computer Science & Engineering.

Consulting, Sales & Marketing, and Finance were the most sought-after domains among the many roles that were offered. 

The batch also saw candidates get two international offers this year, as the institute completed placements for its largest outgoing batch of 578 students — the postgraduate programme (PGP) 2018-20 and the 5 years integrated program in management (IPM) batch.

More than 45 recruiters including AB InBev, Appdynamics, Cloudtail, FIITJEE, Flipkart, Intermiles, Kohler, Payoneer, and Thomson Reuters hired from the campus for the first time for multiple roles as well.

As per the graph given above, the institute has witnessed both rise and fall in terms of the percentage of placements over the past few academic years. In the Year 2016, the institute had recorded the highest percentage of placement.

From the data presented above, it is evident that the institute has witnessed a steady rise in terms of the average CTC offered to the students. The 2020 batch secured the highest average CTC in comparison to all the previous batches.

In terms of offers by domain, Finance led the pack with 23.3% of offers, followed closely by Sales and Marketing with 23% and Consulting with 21.5%. IT accounted for 20.3% of the offers and Operations and others for 11.8%.

IIT Indore Ranking 2020 in India and World

IIT Indore (IITI), established in 2009, has been ranked as the top engineering institute in the country. Despite being new, the institute has achieved a decent rank in most of the rank lists released by major Indian and International ranking agencies.

The Nation’s trustworthy agency NIRF ranks the institute at 13th place out of top 100 engineering institutes. According to Outlook-ICARE, it is ranked at 8th place just behind IIT Roorkee which is almost a century older than IIT Indore and at the 12th place among top 100 Universities of India. This shows the pace of improvement of IITI. 

Not only nationally, IIT Indore has been ranked higher than the other top IITs like IIT Madras and IIT Bombay in Times Higher Education Rankings. The indore institute has made its remarkable appearance in QS Asian University Rankings too.

IIT Indore couldn’t find a place in the rankings released by ranking agencies during the initial years after its establishment. But since the last few years it has worked well on improving its rankings. This improvement of IIT Indore has been majorly credited to its experienced faculty, excellent placements and good infrastructure.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015. 

“IIT Indore has maintained its position in the top 20 engineering colleges in India in the NIRF rankings since the past 4 years, moving a place ahead with every passing year.”

IIT Indore has been improving in its ratings in the several parameters that NIRF takes into account while assigning ranks to colleges. A Core Committee set up by MHRD draws conclusions from the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. Rather than blindly comparing ­institutions against one another, ­Outlook-ICARE India University Rankings 2019 is a fair assessment based on how institutions within the same category perform against each other in a variety of metrics, thus ­reflecting the strengths and weak­nesses of a ­institution in each domain.

IIT Indore Ranking – QS Ranking (Asia)

“IIT Indore has been ranked at 188th position among Top 250 Universities of Asia”.

IIT Bombay is leading nationally in the QS Asian University Rankings at 34th place, followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Madras at 43rd and 50th position respectively. India has 31 institutes among the top 250 Asian Universities. Of these, 18 dropped compared to last year, 12 gained ground and one remained stable.

The list is topped by the National University of Singapore followed by Nanyang Technological University, which has risen from 3rd to 2nd; and the University of Hong Kong.

QS rankings, like outlook and NIRF rankings, are based on various parameters which are listed below with the score of IIT Indore.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 includes almost 1400 universities across 92 countries, standing as the largest and most diverse university rankings ever to date.
