Last week preparation tips for an MBA entrance exam invariably include revision and mock test practice. CMAT being one of the popular MBA entrance exams, also require special attention viz. revision and mock test in the last week before the test date. CMAT 2021 exam will be conducted on February 22 and 27. Whichever exam date is allotted to you, make a last week preparation plan accordingly. In this article, we will share a few tips and tricks for last week CMAT 2021 preparation.
Last Week Preparation Tips to Ace CMAT 2021
A week before CMAT 2021 exam, you need to focus on a few things such as possible topics from which questions can be asked, how much to revise, when to revise and how to utilize the exam duration in order to optimize performance. Here are a few tips you can follow in the last week before CMAT 2021.
Daily Revision
In the last one week, you cannot revise all the topics in detail. So, what you need to do is list down the important topics from which questions are more likely to be asked. By the last week of CMAT exam, you would have already prepared well for all the topics and are thorough with main concepts. You may have also done enough practice of sample questions to know application of theorems and formulae well. So, now what needs to be done is revising the very same concepts which are your strong points.
Spend about two hours in revision and make notes while revising so that concepts and theorems are etched in your mind.
One Final Mock Test
Practice one full length CMAT mock test in the last week before the exam. This is not meant to seriously evaluate the performance or preparation level but to boost your confidence of handling a speed based test. Don’t worry if you don’t score well in the final mock test. Note down the areas where you faltered so that you know what to do in the actual exam if there are questions from those particular areas. Don’t allow stress to take over. The actual CMAT question paper is usually easier than mock tests.

Go Through CMAT Question Papers
Spend some time on assessing previous years’ CMAT question papers to know which topics dominate the question paper. All the four sections of CMAT question paper have equal weightage i.e. 25 questions each. While going through the past years’ question papers, how many questions have been asked from which topic over the years. Usually there is only one RC passage in the Language Comprehension section of CMAT. Data Interpretation is negligent with one table or series. The pattern could be repeated this year as well.
Do Not Start Anything New
With just a week left for CMAT leave what’s left behind. Do not start any new chapter. Starting a topic from scratch a few days before the exam is a bad idea, because it will not only take up your time but may also lead you confused and ill prepared. Make a Time Management Strategy
CMAT is a speed-based aptitude test. One has to answer 100 questions in 180 minutes. Which means for each questions one gets 1.8 minute to read, understand and solve. Now, any expert will tell you that attempting all the questions in a speed-based test is nothing short of hara-kiri. So, develop a strategy by which you can solve about 80-85 questions in 180 minutes will maximum accuracy. Also, assess how much time you take in solving about 22 questions of QA, LR and Verbal Ability individually. Make sure, that in CMAT 2021 exam you time yourself accordingly. GK section of CMAT will not require more than 15 minutes. So, divide time accordingly.

Practice Problem Solving Tricks and Shortcuts
Apart from revision, spend some time in practicing trick and shortcuts of solving calculation intensive question you have learnt before. Due to the time limit, it is very important that you don’t waste time in doing too much rough work. Memorise tables, square, square roots, cube, cube roots, etc. for Quant. For English grammar, memorise short definitions with examples.
Prepare for CMAT Exam Day
No amount of hard work is of any help if things don’t go as planned on the exam day. Thus, start preparing for the exam day in advance. Wake up early, study at the same time as CMAT 2021 exam timing. You need to be physically and mentally prepared for a three-hour marathon test without bio-break. Most importantly, do not take stress.
